The top-ranked car on the SUV sales chart is also the first car on our list. The recently updated Tata Nexon boasts a best-in-segment ground clearance of 208mm. The price for the new model starts at Rs 9.60 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.08 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The SUV comes with a range of features that include dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone integration, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, it provides 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP as standard. The noteworthy aspect is that the 2024 Tata Nexon is the only SUV under Rs 10 lakh to receive a full 5-star safety rating for both child and adult occupant protection.

Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Kia Sonet (205mm)

The Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Kia Sonet are the next SUVs with ground clearance. All three SUVs provide 205mm of ground clearance. The Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger are more utilitarian SUVs, while the Kia Sonet is luxurious and feature-packed.

The Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite come with two engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. On the other hand, the Kia Sonet offers three engine options, which include a 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.0-litre T-GDi turbo petrol engine. The transmission options for the new models include 5-speed MT, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AT, and 7-speed DCT gearbox.

The Nissan Magnite starts from Rs 7.39 lakh to Rs 13.16 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), while the Renault Kiger costs between Rs 7.04 lakh and Rs 13.30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The most expensive of the lot is the Kia Sonet which is priced between Rs 9.39 lakh and Rs 19.02 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The 2024 Brezza is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that can deliver up to 100 bhp and 137 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed AT gearbox. Currently, the Maruti Brezza is priced between Rs 9.72 lakh to Rs 16.63 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

One of the most feature-rich SUVs in its segment, the Venue offers LED headlamps, electric driver seat adjustment, a two-step recline for the backrest and more. This four-wheeler is available with 3 engine options- 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox option.
