New-gen Maruti Swift

Maruti’s first launch this year is going to be the new-gen Swift. The new Swift is going to be launched in May. According to the rumour mill, Maruti is going to launch the car on 9th May 2024. So what has changed in the new Swift? This new model comes with an updated design with a new grille, LED headlamps and blacked-out alloy wheels. The interiors come with a floating infotainment system like other newer Maruti cars. Other changes include new HVAC controls, rectangular AC vents and new upholstery.

The feature list is expected to grow with the addition of connected car technology, blind spot warning, wireless charging, etc. Under the Hood, the Swift is coming with the new K Series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine capable of producing 80bhp and 108Nm of torque. We don’t expect a mild hybrid on the Indian model, but with a 3-cylinder expect better efficiency. pricing-wise, expect a hike of Rs 70k to 80k on the new model. 

Tata Altroz Racer

Tata was expected to launch the Altroz Racer in April, but at the last moment, the brand changed its plans. Now, we expect the brand to launch the Altroz racer in May. Hopefully, this time Tata won’t disappoint us. People are excited about the Altroz Racer as it is going to mark the entry of Hot Hatchbacks in the country.

In the exterior, it gets some changes to make it look more sporty. The real deal is under the hood, as it comes with Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing  118bhp & 172Nm of torque. Transmission could include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The Interior come with an all-black theme with contrasting red stitching to enhance the sporty feel. Additional features include ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system & 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Pricing-wise, the Altroz Racer could be priced anywhere between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 14 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Upcoming cars May 2024 – Force Gurkha 5-door

Force started the teaser campaign of the Grukha in April, and the launch is expected to happen in May. With the 5-door model, Force is also going to relaunch the 3-door one as it was discontinued due to BS-6 Stage 2 norms. The 5-door model is expected to come with some subtle changes like different bumpers and grille. Another obvious change is the extended length to accommodate the extra boot space.

In the interiors, we could see a bigger infotainment system and some tweaks to the dashboard. Under the hood, it should continue with the 2.6-litre Mercedes-sourced diesel engine capable of producing 91bhp and 250Nm of torque. Force Gurkha 5-door will rival the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door.
