Mahindra Thar 5-Door To Get This XUV700 Feature
The Thar 5-door has been one of the most talked about SUVs in recent times. We last saw such hype on another Mahindra product which was the XUV700. Mahindra seems to be copying this same formula on the Thar 5-door. The Thar 5-door is going to come loaded with features and another one of them has been spotted. Spy shots
The Thar 5-door was rumoured to come with ADAS and now a test mule has been spotted with it. We can see the camera module behind the IRVM, the Thar 5-door could miss out on the radar. With the XUV 3XO also expected to get ADAS, Mahindra is surely making it a mainstream safety feature. Other things in the spy include the new grille and LED headlamp setup that we already know about. We can also spot the electric sunroof. At the rear, we can see LED taillamps and spare tyres.
Mahindra Thar 5-door – What else do we know?
The Thar 5-door is expected to get a new dashboard layout. We could see a different upholstery and an updated dashboard. Other expected new features include a digital instrument cluster, bigger infotainment, more storage spaces, roof-mounted speakers, AdrenoX connectivity, a three-spoke steering wheel, etc.
Specifications
The Thar 5-door would need a better tune than the 3-door version. It will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. The performance will be more in tune with the Scorpio-N. So we can expect the petrol engine could be able to produce 200bhp and 370Nm of torque. The diesel engine could produce 172bhp and 370Nm of torque. Transmission options should include manual and automatic gearboxes. The Thar 5-door could come with a 4×4 option at launch and 4×2 would be launched later on.

Mahindra Thar 5-door – Launch
The Thar 5-door looks production-ready in the newer spy shots. According to rumours, Mahindra could unveil the SUV in August probably on Independence Day like the 3-door version was launched in 2020. What about the pricing? The Thar 5-door could start from Rs 18 lakh and go to Rs 23 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
