Everyone is excited as India’s popular hatchback, the Maruti Swift is set to come in an all new avatar. That said, along with the new Swift, Maruti will also bring its sedan version, the new gen Maruti Dzire. Now if you think that the chemistry between the Swift and the Dzire will be the same as before, then you might be wrong. According to sources, the new Maruti Dzire will be different from the upcoming Swift which will have more features as well.

New Maruti Dzire

According to the sources, Maruti will add some unique styling elements to Dzire that will differentiate it from the Swift. The headlamps will be similar but we can see different and stylish front bumpers. The front grille could also be different as the Swift has a sporty grille but the Dzire could get a more sophisticated design. Being a sedan side profile is anyways different, but even the alloy wheels could be different. At the rear, the Dzire will get all new tail lamps and redesigned boot. Also, expect stylish bumpers at the rear as well.

Differentiation will be noticed on the inside as well. Now the global Swift has been launched with a bright colour interior theme, but the Indian version could get darker colours for the upholstery. However, the Dzire will likely get a bright interior, maybe not exactly like the global Swift, maybe the company will offer a beige and black colour combination to uplift the overall premium quotient on the inside. Finally, the feature list of the Dzire will also be more exclusive than the new Swift. We have already spotted a Dzire test cars with a sunroof which is the first in segment feature. Rest, expect some more features like 360-degree cameras and front ventilated seats.

Engine Specifications 

The engine and transmission options however will stay similar to the new Swift. Suzuki has introduced a new 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine with the new Swift. Now the new engine produces slightly lesser power at 80bhp & 108Nm of torque. Also, it is down from 4-cylinder to 3-cyliner unit. However, Suzuki assures that the new engine will be more refined and better drivable than before and will also be more efficient. The transmission options will continue to be the same with manual and AMT options.

New Maruti Dzire – Launch Timeline

The new Maruti Swift is all set to be launched by next month in May 2024. That said, the Dzire will probably take another 4 to 5 months to hit Indian showrooms. What about pricing? Well with all the changes and added features, expect the new Dzire to be priced with a premium of Rs 60k to 80k, depending on the variants. Currently, the Maruti Dzire has been priced between Rs 7.65 lakh to Rs 10.94 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
