The re-entry of Ford Motor Company has been the talk of the town for a few months now. It was first said that the brand will bring the all new Ford Endeavour along with an entry level SUV. Now, Ford has filed a design patent in India for a 7-seater MPV. The new MPV is expected to rival the Maruti Ertiga and the Kia Carens in the Indian market.

New Ford 7-Seater

The design patent registered by Ford reveals a few key details. Unlike the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens, the Ford MPV has a rugged front fascia. The headlamps look sleek but the strong bonnet lines with large grille and rugged bumpers enhance the SUV appeal of the vehicle.

The side profile the tall design and the large glass area gives it an MPV look. It also appears like the new MPV has black claddings all around, along with a large panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and shark fin antenna. Now if Ford really offers the panoramic sunroof with the new MPV, it will be a game changing product for this feature alone.

What About Ford Endeavour

Endeavour

Apart from the new 7-seater from the brand, fans are eagarly waiting for the new Endeavour. The SUV was earlier spotted in Chennai along with the F-150 pick-up truck. Spotting the new Endeavour has raised expectations but the pricing of initial models could be a little disappointing. Why so? Initially, Ford will be selling the new Endeavour via CBU routes as the Everest SUV. So with all the taxes, we are expecting the SUV to be priced around Rs 70 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

However, this pricing will be applicable only for the initial batches as the brand will localise the manufacturing in the coming time. Expect Ford to start local manufacturing in 2026, once it formalises its EV plans. Once done, the prices of the SUV will reduce significantly and could come down to around Rs 55 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
