ADAS coming

Mahindra XUV300 safety

The XUV300 is expected to come with a 5-star crash test rating. The pre-facelift model has managed that and we don’t think Mahindra will compromise on this aspect. Currently, in this segment, the Nexon facelift comes with a 5-star rating. But what will make the XUV300 even more safe is that it is rumoured to come with level-2 ADAS. It is expected to come with ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet do come with ADAS, but it is a level-1 system and both the cars are yet to be crash tested. This combined with the expected 7-airbags and all-disc brakes will make the XUV300 the safest car in this segment.

Powertrains

The Mahindra XUV300 is going to continue with the same specifications. So it will continue with the two turbo petrol options – a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre TGDi turbo petrol. Currently, both come with a manual and an AMT gearbox. Hopefully, Mahindra offers a proper automatic gearbox on any of these petrol engines. Diesel duties will be handled by a 1.5-litre engine with 115bhp and 300Nm torque.
