In February, Hyundai sold 15,276 units of the Creta showcasing its popularity. So why exactly is the Creta so popular? One of the primary reasons is due to its features and wide variant spread, so there is something for everyone. Also, people have made it a status symbol, something that hints you have arrived in life. With the facelift, Creta’s fandom is only expected to grow.

Mahindra Scorpio

If the Creta dominates the C-SUV segment, the Scorpio-N/Classic dominates everything above it. Before the N model, the Scorpio made its name in cities and also rural areas for its rugged design. With the N model, Mahindra has managed to give a perfect upgrade to legacy Scorpio buyers. The N taps into the modern buyers who need a rugged car, but don’t want to compromise on features. On average, Maruti dispatches 20k units of the WagonR per month, showcasing its popularity. As a product, the WagonR is popular for its tall-boy design, ample space, good reliability and Maruti’s service network.

Another Maruti car on the list is the Ertiga. It single-handedly dominates the affordable 7-seater category in the country. On average, Maruti dispatches 15k units of the Ertiga. People buy it as it provides a very capable 7-seater option at the price of compact SUVs. Additionally, you also get all the Maruti perks like reliability and a vast service network. Then there is also the option of CNG, which is very popular among buyers. The Ertiga is blindly bought by personal and also fleet buyers.

Toyota Innova Crysta/Hycross

The last car on the list is also the car with the highest waiting period in the country. Since its launch in 2005, the Innova nameplate has gone from strength to strength. It is one car that people blindly buy from politicians to common people. In February 2024, Toyota sold 8,481 units of the Crysta & Hycross. This is even as it has stopped bookings of the higher trims of Hycross due to production constraints. Seeing the popularity, Toyota has steadily increased the price of Innova, but even with that the Innova continues to be its best seller.
