Recalled units

Maruti WagonR

Maruti has issued a recall for around 15,000 cars. This includes 11,851 units of the WagonR and 4,190 units of the Baleno. Why has Maruti issued the recall? It is due to a possible defect in part of the fuel pump motor. These units were manufactured between July 30, 2019 and November 01, 2019. Maruti hasn’t specified which engine of the WagonR is at fault, the 1.0-litre or the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol. The Baleno comes with only 1.2 litre petrol, so there is no confusion here.

Maruti WagonR & Baleno – Recall procedure

Maruti will be contacting the owners of the impacted units to examine and replace the problematic components of these vehicles, free of cost. Additionally, owners can also check if their vehicle has been recalled by visiting this site and entering their car’s chassis number. Maruti claims that the defective part may lead to stalling or engine starting issues. Maruti hasn’t revealed if the affected units are safe to be driven, but it is better to get your car checked and serviced as soon as possible to avoid problems.
