Launch details

Citroen Basalt

Citroen has posted a teaser image of the Basalt on its social handles. Probably, Citroen plans to launch the concept version of the Basalt tomorrow. In the image, we can see a sloping C-pillar and stylish tail lamps. Also, the French brand states that the Basalt is developed especially for the needs and desires of India, so hopefully, it comes with premium interiors and features.

What else to expect?

Citroen Basalt

The Citroen Basalt has been spotted testing a few times. From the spy shots, it seems to be getting a front design similar to other Citroen cars. Hopefully, Citroen will give the Basalt LED headlamps, alloy wheels, and proper door handles. The interiors have been spotted a few times, but Citroen is expected to better kit the production version. So it is a bit hard to guess how much Citroen improves the interior of the C3X. Citroen should add features like a push start/stop button, wireless charging, leatherette upholstery, digital instrument cluster, sunroof, etc.

The C3X is expected to come with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing 109bhp and 190Nm of torque. Though this engine is decently powerful, Citroen needs to bring more powerful options to compete in this segment. Last month, Citroen finally launched an automatic gearbox on this engine and we can expect that on the C3X too. Along with the automatic, it would also come with a manual gearbox option.
