The Magnite created a lot of uproar when it was launched in 2020. It had everything for someone with an SUV-like design and lots of features. Three years on the car still doesn’t feel that outdated in the market. Nevertheless, Nissan seems to be gearing up to launch its facelifted model. We have been talking about it and now the car has been spotted testing for the first time. In today’s article, let’s talk about this Rs 7 lakh SUV.

Spy shots

In the spy shots, we can see a heavily camouflaged car. It seems to be the Magnite from the side view where we can see a lot of similarities. Overall not much can be seen through the camo, the only noticeable change is the new alloy wheel design. The tail light design seems to have changed, but hard to confirm it with the heavy camouflage. Also, Nissan seems to have refrained from joining the connected tail lamp bandwagon, so props to them for that.

Rs 7 lakh SUV – What to expect?

7 lakh SUV

We can expect design changes on the facelift with a new grille and headlamps. Hopefully, Nissan doesn’t tinker much with the front design as it already looks quite good. Coming to the interiors, the Magnite is already the most feature-loaded car in its segment. Nissan can add things like auto-dimming IRVM, automatic headlamps, and front parking sensors. One area where Nissan could improve is the fit & finish.

Specifications

Being a facelift, we don’t expect Nissan to tinker much with the specifications. It will continue with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (71bhp & 96Nm) paired with a 5-speed MT and AMT gearbox. The second option is the more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol (99bhp & 160Nm) that comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

Earlier reports had hinted that Nissan could launch the Magnite facelift by mid-2024. Now with the car spotted testing, Nissan could be well on track to achieve this launch timeline. What about the price hike? Currently, the Magnite starts from Rs 7.39 lakh and goes to Rs 13.16 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the facelift, we can expect a hike of Rs 50k to 60k depending upon the variants.
