Nissan is currently surviving only on the sales of Magnite in India. The Japanese brand knows that it will need some more products to complement the Magnite. It can re-enter the C-SUV segment. In the past, Nissan had the Terrano which was a badge-engineered version of the Duster. So we can certainly expect a similar thing with the upcoming Renault Duster. In today’s article, let’s talk about this Nissan Creta rival.

Nissan’s plan

Recently, Nissan stated that it is working on 6 new products for the Indian market. One of these products is expected to be a C-SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, etc. Renault is already working on the Duster, and we expect a similar product from Nissan. They will have different exterior & interior designs but will have the same mechanical bits. Also, do note that the Duster coming to India will be different from the one spied in Europe.

Specifications & features

Nissan Creta rival

Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi are going to share this platform. Mitsubishi recently unveiled the Xforce SUV based on this platform. There will be a lot of similarities in all these SUVs, just like the Kiger & Magnite. The Xforce is basic when it comes to features, but that will not be the case with the Renault/Nissan derivatives coming to India. In terms of convenience features, we can expect 10-inch infotainment, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and an electric tailgate. Safety feature-wise, we could see 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control and a 360-degree camera.

Nissan Creta rival – Launch

Nissan Creta rival

Renault’s sister brand, Dacia is going to unveil the new Duster on 29th November 2023. However, India launch is still far away. According to reports, Renault plans to launch the new Duster by 2025. Nissan’s version can be expected in a similar time frame or a few months after the Duster. What about the pricing? We can expect pricing in the range of Rs 10 lakh and going to Rs 20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With this pricing, Nissan would be looking to compete with the mid variants of C-SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos etc.
