Is that Punch Facelift?

Looking at the fresh spy shots it is undoubtedly the Tata Punch. Reports claim the test car to be the Punch facelift but it appears to be the Punch EV. Upon looking closely, we can notice the charging socket placement on the test mule. It is at the same location where the Punch EV actually has. Don’t be confused with the spy shots as the brand does use the test cars even after that car has been launched. Also, the launch of Punch facelift is said to happen sometime in 2025 and the brand will right now focus more on the Curvv EV/petrol & Harrier EV.

Tata Punch Facelift – Exterior

Talking about the Punch facelift, it will likely be based on the Punch EV. Just like the recent Tata SUVs, Punch facelift will also get a similar design language. In fact a rendered image by Team BHP gives us a hint of what the Punch facelift will look like. The major differentiating factor between the Punch EV and the regular model will be the front grille. Also, it is less likely for the regular model to get the connected LED DRLs. The side profile will also remain the same and we can even expect a similar set of alloy wheels on the regular Punch.

Interior

A similar story is expected to continue on the inside as well. The Punch facelift will probably get a similar interior layout of the Punch EV. This includes the usage of all the new elements that we see in recent Tata SUVs. The facelift will likely get 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, 10.25-inch touchscreen system, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, touch based AC control, and a lot more. The differentiating factor between the two could be the interior colour theme. The regular Punch may not get the white interior theme from the Punch EV and instead get an all black treatment.

Tata Punch Facelift – Engine Specifications

The Punch facelift will likely continue with the same powertrain options like the current model. It gets a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine that produces 87bhp and 115Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated with a manual and AMT transmission options. We also have an option for CNG which is based on the same 1.2-litre engine producing 72bhp and 103Nm of peak torque. For now the CNG option is offered only with a manual gearbox but we can expect it to come with AMT as well.

Launch & Pricing

For the next few months Tata Motors will be busy with the launches of its electric SUVs. That said, the Punch facelift is expected to hit the showrooms anytime in 2025, alongside the Altroz facelift and Altroz EV. In terms of pricing, the Punch facelift is expected to be priced anywhere between Rs 7.50 lakh to Rs 13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
