The next car on this list is also the newest car to hit the used car market. Indian car of the year 2022, the Mahindra XUV700 is best known for its long list of features and powerful engines. Operating in a segment higher than the Creta, the XUV700 offer flexible seating with 5-, 6- and 7-seater options.

Compared to the Creta, the Mahindra flagship SUV offers more of everything. Standing tall at 4.7 metres in length, the XUV700 is longer, taller and wider than the Creta. The car also offers a longer wheelbase of 2750mm, liberating more space on the inside. While quality levels are at par with Hyundai, the XUV offers a more premium experience with a long list of advanced features and a powerful petrol and diesel engine with AWD option.
At present, 2021 models of the XUV700 are listed on used car platforms priced between Rs 20 lakh for the lower variants while the top-spec AX7 L models are available at Rs 23 lakh.

The first used car alternative to the Creta comes from Hyundai’s stable. As the flagship SUV from the brand, the Tucson has been admired for its spacious cabin and excellent ride comfort. While it does lack features like ventilated seats compared to the Creta, it offers many feel-good features including a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat and powered co-driver seats. Additionally, it also gets a larger panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and leather upholstery giving the car a more luxurious appeal.

Powertrain options include a 2.0-litre petrol or 2.0-litre diesel engine. With the facelift introduced in 2020, Hyundai skipped the manual gearbox and offered a 6-speed automatic on the petrol versions, while the diesel was offered with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, the top-spec diesel trim was also offered with an HTrac AWD system, which makes it more capable on traction-restricted zones compared to a Creta.

Currently, Hyundai Tucson models from 2020 & above are priced between Rs 19 lakh and Rs 24 lakh depending on the mileage and condition.

The third car on this list comes from the house of Czech manufacturer Skoda. The Skoda Kodiaq is a flagship full-size SUV that rivals the Toyota Fortuner and the Jeep Meridian in India. A popular SUV in India, the Kodiaq is well known for offering a premium cabin with many simple clever elements. Key highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 10-speak audio setup, 360-degree camera, adjustable middle-row seats and a large panoramic sunroof.

What the car lacks in features, it makes up by offering a powerful 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. While the petrol produces 180 bhp, the diesel makes 150 bhp of maximum power output and 340 Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox with the option of a sophisticated AWD system.

For those looking for a chauffeur-driven experience, the Skoda Kodiaq can be a perfect used car alternative to the Creta. Prices for the flagship SUV start from Rs 22 lakh and extend up to Rs 26.5 lakh based on the mileage and condition of the SUV.

In addition to the above-mentioned SUVs, customers can also look at the old reliable Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova Crysta. Both models come powered by a powerful diesel engine with RWD bias, while the Fortuner also offers a 4X4 option. Prices for SUV/MPV manufactured before 2018 start at Rs 18 lakh and extend to Rs 22 lakh based on the model and mileage.
