Despite its large size the Audi flagship SUV is easy to drive around the city and comes powered by either a 3.0-litre petrol or a 3.0-litre diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive system. Key features on the inside include 4-zone climate control, multiple drive modes, premium leather upholstery, a floating touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster among others. 

Currently, 2018 & 2019 models of the Q7 are available priced between Rs 42 lakh and Rs 60 lakh depending on the mileage and condition.

Mercedes Benz GLE

Price: Rs 43 lakh to Rs 55 lakh

The next model on this list is the Mercedes Benz GLE which was first launched in 2015. Inspired by the M-class, the 2018 Mercedes Benz GLE features a traditional SUV design. with a bulging bonnet and sculpted fenders. Moving inside, the car is provided with the last generation COMAND 7-inch infotainment unit, semi-digital instrument cluster and ambient lighting. While this model is offered as a 5-seater only it offers more space and luxury compared to the Fortuner.

Powertrain options include a 2.1-litre twin-turbo diesel and a more powerful 3.0-litre V6 diesel mated to an all-new nine-speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. The SUV also get comfort and convenience features like a drive mode selector, 360-degree camera, Airmatic suspension and more.

BMW X5

The X5 is offered with a 3.0-litre in-line-six diesel engine which is rated for 265 bhp and 620 Nm of peak torque. This unit comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased xDrive, all-wheel-drive system.

Currently, pre-facelift models of the BMW X5 are available for as low as Rs 45 lakh while the facelift models demand a premium as they offer a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster and more.

In addition to the above-mentioned models, customers can also look at the Mercedes Benz GLC, BMW X3 and Audi Q5 models registered between 2018 and 2022. But these models fail to offer the cabin space and road presence associated with the Toyota Fortuner.
