India’s favourite hatchback Swift is going to get a major upgrade soon. From the spy shots, it is clear that the model coming to India is quite similar to the one unveiled in Japan. It comes with a new grille, LED headlamps & fog lamps and blacked-out alloy wheels. The interiors come with a new dashboard layout consisting of a floating infotainment system with rectangular AC vents and new HVAC controls. Maruti has also tinkered with the engine as the new Swift comes with a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine capable of producing 80bhp and 108Nm of torque. Hybrid is not expected to come to India. Pricing-wise, we can expect a hike of Rs 70k to 80k depending upon the variants.

Tata Altroz Racer

Upcoming hatchbacks in 2024

If you want something more powerful than the Altroz, then the Racer edition could be perfect for you. Tata has been quite tightlipped about the Racer, but it did showcase the hatchback at the Bharat Mobility Show. The Altroz Racer edition comes with the more powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that powers the Nexon. From the looks of it, the Racer could be launched before the facelift with all the bells & whistles. Then Tata could implement all the features in the facelifted model.
