What do we know so far?
The details of the new-gen Tiago are quite sparse for now. There has been some industry chatter that suggests Tata is working on the new Tiago/Tigor. Both the cars are in the last stages of their life cycle and are due for a major change. Tata is surely looking to offer 6-airbags on the new Tiago and Tigor helping them achieve a 5-star rating at BNCAP. This will mean all the cars in Tata’s portfolio will be 5-star rated.
New Tata Tiago – Other details
As stated above details of the new-gen model are sparse. Being a new-gen model, we can expect a new platform. Probably, the new-gen Tiago could be based on the ALFA arc platform like the Altroz. Along with the newer platform, we could also see a new design. There could be a new grille, LED headlamps and updated bumpers on the new Tiago. In the interiors, we could see a new dashboard layout with new features like a bigger infotainment system, new instrument cluster, better upholstery, rear ac vents, etc
Specifications
The new generation Tiago could continue with the current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed MT and AMT gearbox. Tata could tweak the performance a bit on the facelift. It should also continue to get the CNG option with the brand’s famed twin-cylinder technology.
