Kia Seltos – Recalled units

Kia Seltos

Kia has announced a voluntary recall for around 4,388 units of the Seltos. These units were manufactured between 28th February and 13th July 2023. So most of the affected units should be from the pre-facelift model. Kia has stated that it has done the recall to check for a potential error in the electronic oil pump controller, which may affect the performance of the SUV’s CVT gearbox. So, how will you know if your car needs a recall? Kia has stated that it will proactively reach out to customers and replace the faulty part.

Earlier recalls

Kia Seltos

This is the first recall of Seltos in India, but Kia has earlier done recalls on the Carens. The Carens has been recalled twice since its launch, once in October 2022 for an airbag software issue and the second time in June 2023 for an update to its instrument cluster. Kia’s compact SUV Sonet, old Carnival and EV6 have never faced a recall till now. Overall car recalls are a normal thing. It just means that the manufacturer acknowledges the defect and has made efforts to rectify it. You get an improved product after a recall.
