For Kia, India has quickly become an important market, and it wants to expand further. In 2024, it has already launched the Sonet facelift, and we can expect 4 new cars to come this year. Carens facelift

Kia could update the Carens with a facelifted model in 2024. Seeing Kia’s record of updating cars after three years, the Carens could get a facelift by the end of 2024. There are high chance that Kia could unveil it by the end of 2024 and announce the pricing in 2025 like it did with the Sonet facelift. Like all facelifts, We could see an updated front design with connected DRLs and a tweaked grille. New features could include a 360-degree camera, electrically adjustable driver seat, electronic parking brake and heads-up display. With Sonet getting ADAS, it’s a no-brainer that the Carens will also get it in the next update. Specs-wise, we don’t expect any changes. We can expect a price hike of Rs 50k to 60k depending upon the variants. 

Upcoming Kia cars in 2024 – Carnival

The Carnival is coming back to India but in a bigger and more modern avatar. It has been spotted in testing a few times, and it is going to be different from the model showcased at the Auto Expo of 2023. This is a facelifted model of that car with an even sharper design with elongated DRLs and a new grille. In the interior, the MPV comes with a dual 12.3-inch screen housing the infotainment and digital instrument cluster. Under the hood, we expect it to be powered by the 2.2-litre diesel engine that powered the previous-gen Carnival. The Carnival is expected to be launched in the second half of 2024, and its pricing could reach around the Rs 45 lakh to Rs 50 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai).

EV9 

Along with the Carnival, Kia also plans to bring the EV9 as a CBU import. The EV9 is not your usual aerodynamic EV, as it comes with a proper boxy look. Kia showcased the EV9 at the Auto Expo of 2023. Props to Kia for retaining most of the concept elements. In the interiors, you will be greeted with a dual-screen dashboard layout with a nice touch of ambient lighting. Globally, the EV9 comes with three powertrain options – a RWD, a long-range RWD and an AWD. It remains to be seen which option Kia brings to India. The EV9 is going to be an expensive car with prices expected to range from Rs 80 lakh to Rs 90 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Upcoming Kia cars in 2024 – Clavis

Another Kia car we could see in 2024 is the Clavis. The Clavis could be unveiled by the end of 2024 with a price reveal sometime in 2025. Talking about the Clavis, it is expected to sit between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s product lineup. It has been spotted testing in South Korea, revealing an Exter-like car. However, the spied car comes loaded with features like a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 12 parking sensors (6 in front & 6 at the rear) and flush door handles. This hints that Kia is going to position it above the Sonet. Design-wise, the Clavis is going to come with a boxy design language to differentiate it from the Sonet & Seltos. In the interiors, the Clavis is expected to have more space than the Sonet. Under the hood, the Clavis is expected to come with hybrid, EV and pure petrol options. The pricing of Kia Clavis could start from Rs 14 lakh and go to Rs 26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
