Hyundai Creta EV Price Expectation

Before getting into the pricing of Creta EV, let’s understand the current EV market first. So if we look at the trend of pricing of petrol cars and their EV counterparts, the price difference is around 3 to 4 lakhs. For instance the Tata Punch petrol is priced between Rs 7.25 lakh to Rs 12.17 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Whereas the Punch EV has been priced between Rs 11.57 lakh to Rs 15.23 lakh (on-road). Here, the price difference between the top end variants is around Rs 3 lakhs. Same can be said for the Nexon and Nexon EV or

Talking about the Creta, the current petrol and diesel variants are priced between Rs 13.10 lakh to Rs 24.46 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). That said, we can then expect the Hyundai Creta EV to be priced between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 28 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Also its competitor the Tata Curvv EV will be launched by June or July 2024. So once the Curvv EV arrives, we will have a better clarity on the pricing of the Creta EV.

What else we know?

Hyundai Creta EV is yet to be unveiled by the brand. However, some spy shots have revealed key design details. In one of the spy shots we can clearly see the front of the Creta EV test car and Creta facelift is very similar. But being an EV, expect a different grille design and lower bumper for the Creta EV. The test car also revealed different style alloy wheels which were boasting more aerodynamic design. Other than that, expect the Creta EV to look similar to the current model. However, Hyundai will make some changes to differentiate it with the regular Creta.

Interior

Just like the exterior design, the interior design of the Creta EV will also be similar to the regular Creta. It will most likely get the same dashboard design with the same 10.25-inch screens – one for touchscreen and the other for digital instrument cluster. What could be different is the colour theme of the interior. One of the spy shots revealed blue stitching on the leather seats of the Creta EV. Similarly, we may see some more blue highlights inside the Creta EV. Now the Creta EV will get all the features from the regular Creta but we can expect some more EV specific features like V2L and V2V charging.

Hyundai Creta EV PriceSpecifications

Although the information regarding the battery pack is currently unknown, we can expect a battery size of 45kWh which is smaller compared to its upcoming competitors, the Tata Curvv EV and the Maruti eVX. That said, the Creta EV is expected to come with a real life range of around 250-300kms. The electric motors will be borrowed from the internationally sold Hyundai Kona which produces 135bhp and 255Nm of torque.
