Mahindra disrupted the market with the launch of XUV700 in 2021. It was so ahead of the time that it has taken other manufacturers almost two years to catch it. The launch of the new Safari has spiced up things, as the Safari now feels like the more equipped car compared to the XUV700. To grab its advantage back, Mahindra is going to update the XUV700. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2024 Mahindra XUV700.

New Features

2024 Mahindra XUV700

According to reports, Mahindra is planning a mid-cycle update. This will not be a facelift, but rather a feature update to take on the new Safari. Mahindra could add auto-dimming IRVM, which the current model misses out on. To go toe to toe with Safari, Mahindra could give the XUV700 a 6-seater option with captain seats and ventilated seats. Could we see 2nd-row ventilation too? That is a real possibility with the captain seat option coming. Other new features could include an electric tailgate and updated connected car technology.

2024 Mahindra XUV700 – What else to expect?

As it is not a facelift, just a feature update, we don’t think there would be any exterior changes. At Max, Mahindra could add some new colours to the exterior aspect. In the interiors, we don’t expect any major changes. Here, we could see a new upholstery colour. Also, we can expect some new variants on the updated XUV700. According to rumours, we could see AX9 and AX9L variants that get all the above-mentioned features.

Specifications

The Mahindra XUV700 already comes with the most powerful petrol and diesel engine options in this segment, and we don’t expect Mahindra to tinker much with them. The XUV700 will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo petrol (197bhp/280Nm) and 2.2-litre diesel engine(182bhp/420Nm). Both the engines will continue with manual and automatic gearbox options.

2024 Mahindra XUV700 – Launch?

2024 Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra is yet to reveal any concrete information regarding this update. So, for now, it is just speculation, but the new Safari has surely challenged the XUV700, and Mahindra will want to react quickly. According to our sources in Mahindra, the brand is planning something but didn’t elaborate on what exactly is the brand planning. We think Mahindra could launch this updated XUV700 in the festive season or early next year. What about the pricing? If the above-mentioned features are offered, we can expect a price hike of Rs 40k to 50k over the AX7 variants. Currently, the pricing of AX7 starts from Rs 25 lakh and goes to Rs 32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
