Honda as a brand is popular across the globe. It is a Japanese brand and is mainly known for its engine and technology. They manufacture reliable, fun to drive and refined engines. Also, they are known for offering safe and decent features, the Honda City is a great example of that. Even the Honda Amaze is known for its value for money proposition and so is the newly launched Honda Elevate. However, we strongly believe that Honda could extend their line up and add some exciting products. Today, we are bringing you a list of 4 upcoming Honda cars in India that you should be excited for.

Upcoming Honda Cars in India – Honda Elevate 7-seater

Before getting started, let’s take a glimpse of the Honda Elevate. Launched recently, the Elevate is the first India specific SUV from Honda. It competes with segment leading SUVs like Creta and Seltos. However, the Elevate boasts a different design language than the other SUVs of the segment. It is tall and has a boxy shape design. The front has a bold chrome bar sitting on a large grille. It comes with an upright hood and has a butchy stance overall. Even the interiors are very well designed with a tan and black dual tone interior theme.

It is also loaded with some good amount of features. The list includes 10.25-inch touchscreen system, 8 speaker surround sound system, ADAS, leatherette upholstery, LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, and much more.

However, it is highly speculated that Honda could also bring a 7-seater Elevate into production. It will not be a completely different SUV and will be based on the 5-seater Elevate. But some styling differences would be there as seen on Creta and Alcazar. Also, it will be longer than the 5-seater Elevate to accommodate those extra seats. However the wheelbase will remain the same at 2650 mm. It could also receive some extra features like panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, digital instrument cluster, etc.

In terms of engine, it might continue with the same 1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated engine that is offered with the Elevate. It produces 119bhp and 145Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and CVT transmission. The engine is however sufficient for the 5-seater Elevate but will have to see if it is sufficient for the 7-seater Elevate or not. Considering the Elevate misses out the hybrid engine, we think the same would be the case with its 7-seater version. Maybe Honda could give it a EV version. The Honda Elevate 7-seater could be launched next year and will be priced around the Rs 15 lakh to Rs 21 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai).

Honda Elevate EV

Along with the 7-seater Elevate we could also see an EV version of the Elevate. EVs are witnessing success in India and Honda will surely consider an EV Elevate. The EV version  will be exactly the same as the ICE version with some EV specific changes. The exterior and interior design will remain the same and might get some blue accents inside and out. Also, the Elevate EV could get a closed up grille to differentiate itself from the regular model. Talking anything regarding the battery pack would be a bit early but ideally it might get a claimed range of approximately 450km. Once launched, the Elevate EV will compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV. It is expected to be launched by 2026.

New Gen Honda Amaze

Honda Amaze has been one of the best no nonsense offerings from Honda. However, the Amaze is said to receive a generation update next year in 2024. With the generation update the Amaze could get significant updates inside and out. The 2024 Honda Amaze is expected to continue with the aggressive design language of current gen Amaze. The side profile will also get a major revamp and will get new side skirts, wheel arches, and new set of alloy wheels. At the rear the Honda could join the trend of connected tail lamps for the new Amaze.

2024 Honda Amaze will be first launched in the overseas market and will then be introduced in India. So we can expect many premium elements with an updated interior layout. Features like floating setup for touchscreen similar to other Honda cars, premium sound system, automatic climate control, powered mirrors, leatherette upholstery and many more could be included.

The new Honda Amaze is likely to continue with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 1.2-litre petrol engine generates 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Also, it will be offered with a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission. We can however expect Honda to tune the engine for the new model. Also it will be interesting to see if Honda equips the new Amaze with a factory-fitted CNG option or not.

Upcoming Honda Cars in India – Honda WRV

Discontinued in April 2023, Honda WRV was an outdated model offered by Honda in India. It was a compact SUV that competed with segment leaders like the Neoxn and the Brezza. However, an all new Honda WRV has already been revealed in foreign markets. The WRV sold globally stands more than 4 metres in length and so to bring the SUV in India, Honda will have to play with the dimensions to fit it under 4 metres.

With the new model, the exterior and interior are completely changed giving it a more upmarket appeal. The front fascia is similar to the Elevate and looks pretty aggressive. The side profile too has design cues of the Elevate while it gets the comma-shaped rear tail lamps. Also, looking at the current competition of the compact SUVs, Honda will try to keep the WRV at par in terms of features.

The list could include- 9.0-inch infotainment system, 6-speakers, automatic climate control, semi digital instrument cluster, 6-airbags, and a lot more. Also, with Venue now offering ADAS and even Hyundai Sonet facelift is said to receive ADAS, Honda may consider equipping the WRV with ADAS.
