The Royal Enfield Motorcycle company has been on a roll with a steady launch of new products since last year. The brand plans to end this year with a bang as they plan to introduce the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, a bike every adventure rider is very excited for. While we will be riding the bike in the coming few weeks and get detailed first look and review, the much-awaited Himalayan 450 has been revealed in new spy shots which look like they have come from the factory. So, let’s discuss them and the Himalayan 450, and what should we look forward to.

In these spy shots, we can see that the new Himalayan 450 is still largely design wise inspired from the current gen Himalayan 411 with the design of the front beak, headlamp which connects the instrument cluster and fuel tank. But the rest of the bike is all new and looks very modern. The LED headlamps, new trellis frame, larger fuel tank and revised handle-bar and foot pegs are bound to make this bike feel more purposeful. We also see here some new designed body work, a new windscreen, better cycle parts, and new more premium switch gear. We will also see a new digital instrument cluster with this bike. The bike continues to get a luggage rack at the rear as well.

On the mechanical front, we will se this bike with new suspension, the same 21-inch at the front/17-inch at the rear tyre setup. These are wire spoke wheels with all terrain tyres. Suspension will be better as USD forks come in and we hope the suspension travel has increased to take more abuse off-road. The engine on the Himalayan 450 is the new and first for Royal Enfield – 450cc liquid cooled, single cylinder motor which should make 35bhp to 40bhp. It will be paired to a six-speed gearbox and we think there might be a slip and assist clutch too.

In terms of features, we expect this Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 to have connected technology and more cool features than before. Better placed charging ports, plugin play ports for aux lights and other accessories. We are sure Royal Enfield 450 will have a large number of accessories with luggage options, bash plates, knuckle guards and more too in store. Royal Enfield will also offer new color options with the Himalayan 450 too. There will continue to be a option to switch of rear ABS for going off-road and maybe traction control too.

The Himalayan 450 will be launched in the first week on November, mostly the 1st of November. It will be priced around Rs 2.5 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will compete with the BMW 310 GS and the KTM 390 ADV.
