Tata Nexon facelift to get this segment-first feature!

Tata is rigorously testing the Nexon facelift in various parts of the country. It doesn’t want to mess up with a successful product like the Nexon. This rigorous testing is leading to a lot of spy shots ending up with us. Now a new batch of spy shots has confirmed the possibility of a new segment-first feature. What is this feature? In today’s article, let’s talk about this Tata Nexon new facelift.  

Spy shots

The spy shots were sent to us by one of our readers, Chinmay.p.77. Jumping straight into the spy shots, we can see the new DRL design of the Nexon. Tata seems to have also changed the headlamp design making it a bit bigger. The star alloy wheel design looks quite good on the car. At the rear, we can see the sloping rear windshield design. Also, the segment’s first feature we have highlighted is the dynamic swipe indicators. Sadly, Chinmay couldn’t capture them, but he stated that we saw them on this test mule.

Tata Nexon new facelift – Interior & features

Just like the exterior, the interior is also going to get a major revamp. We could see a new dashboard layout with a 10-inch floating infotainment system. Other added features could include a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, LED headlamps & an updated IRA system. 

Specifications

The Nexon facelift should mostly continue with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission-wise, the petrol engine could come with a new DCA gearbox. Talking about the new gearbox, there are rumours we could also see the new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine on the Nexon facelift. This engine will be overkill for the segment, but let’s wait & watch. 

Tata Nexon new facelift – Launch timeline

The rumour mill of the Nexon facelift is getting stronger every passing day. We think Tata could launch the Nexon facelift by the end of August or September. This could be the perfect time with the ensuing festive season. We can expect a major price hike on the Nexon facelift with the new design and added features.
