Things the Kia Seltos facelift misses out upon!
Kia has set a good launchpad for its future in the Indian market. Recently it wrapped up the launch of the Seltos facelift. The Seltos packs in almost everything needed from ADAS to a panoramic sunroof, you name it & Kia offers that on the facelift. However, if we nitpick some things are missing on the Seltos facelift. In today’s article, let’s talk about Kia Seltos facelift misses.
Electric tailgate
Kia has missed out on offering an electric tailgate on the Seltos facelift. There were rumours up until the launch that Kia will offer this on the facelift. It can be a lifesaver if you are handling a lot of baggage. Currently, no car offers this segment and Kia could have offered to get more bragging rights in this segment.
AWD
Currently, AWD is not something people spend money on. But in this segment, Grand Vitara and HyRyder offer AWD. Another thing to note is that Kia offers AWD on the Seltos sold in the USA. The Seltos sold globally is based on a different platform compared to the Indian model. So if Kia brings it to India that will be an additional investment. Hopefully, Kia does bring this in the future if demand for AWD increases.
Kia Seltos facelift misses – Hybrid
Kia currently doesn’t have any hybrid car in its portfolio. Though Seltos was never meant to get a hybrid setup, Kia should think about developing one. The success of Grand Vitara and HyRyder has shown that there is a market for hybrids in India. Also considering the complications of EVs in India, hybrids could be the way forward for some people.
