Tata Sierra to offer this range…
The Tata Sierra is an iconic nameplate not only for Tata Motors but for the Indian automotive market as a whole. A lot of people have profound nostalgia for the Sierra. For good or bad, Tata wants to tap into this nostalgia by bringing back the Sierra. We saw the Sierra EV at the Auto Expo 2023. But Tata didn’t reveal the range figures, what could be the range it offers? In today’s article, let’s talk about Tata Sierra EV range details.
Range
For starters, Tata didn’t reveal the specifications at the Expo. So we are going to do some guesswork to find the expected range of the Sierra EV. Firstly the Sierra EV will be based on a ground-up EV platform leading to an efficient packing of the battery pack. This well Tata fit more battery packs offering higher range. Also, by the time Sierra EV arrives, technology would have developed and we could easily see a 500+ km claimed range. We think considering the status of Sierra EV, Tata will be targeting a claimed range of 600 or even 700km.

Design
The Sierra concept we saw this year was slightly different from the earlier concept. This design seemed more in line with some of Tata’s current cars like the Harrier and Safari. We have the DRL strip running the entire length of the bonnet. Overall the front has that boxy and aggressive look. The side profile has a large glass area and dual tone finish. For the interiors, Tata has gone minimalistic with a clean dashboard layout. Hopefully, Tata retains most of this stuff on the production version of the Sierra EV.
Tata Sierra EV range – Launch details
Tata has been quite tightlipped about the launch timeline of the Sierra EV. However, Tata has listed the car on its website, so it seems to be a real possibility. Tata must have also noticed the fanfare it received at the Expo. Still, all things considered, the Sierra could not see the light of day till the second half of 2025.
