Maruti Invicto vs Toyota Innova HyCross – variants compared!

Toyota & Maruti are on a launch spree, with several products being shared by both brands. Yesterday, Maruti launched the Invicto, the rebadged version of the Innova HyCross. So has Maruti done anything differently on the Invicto? It has certainly priced it better, but how has Maruti achieved that? In today’s article, let’s compare Invicto vs Innova HyCross. 

Like-to-like variants

The Invicto comes in only two variant options compared to four offered by Toyota on the HyCross. The Invicto Zeta+ seems comparable to the HyCross VX variants. At the same time, the Alpha+ seems comparable to the ZX variants. 

Zeta+ vs HyCross VX

The Zeta+ misses out on some features compared to the HyCross VX. Inivcto Zeta+ misses out on parking sensors, rear defogger and 360-degree camera offered by HyCross. The Invicto only comes with a reverse parking camera. More corners are cut by Maurit by removing the auto IRVM and TPMS. Does it get anything more than the HyCross VX? Yes, surprisingly, Maruti offers 6-airbags on the Zeta+, which is not offered by the Innova HyCross VX. Due to these changes, the Invicto Zeta+ (Rs 29.74 lakh) is cheaper than the HyCross VX (Rs 30.34 lakh) by around 60k if on-road prices are compared.

Invicto vs Innova HyCross – Alpha+ vs HyCross ZX

The biggest change is that Invicto Alpha+ doesn’t come with the Ottoman seat function, which is a stand-out feature of the HyCross. Also, Invicto misses out on the 9-speaker JBL system in favour of a normal 6-speaker system. Other minor things include a non-adjustable centre console and 17-inch alloy wheels. Pricing-wise, the Invicto (Rs 34.03 lakh) is cheaper than the HyCross ZX (Rs 35.44 lakh) by around 1.5 lakhs, which is massive.
