Earlier this month, Honda finally took off the wraps of the Elevate. A lot depends on Elevate if Honda wants to survive in the Indian market. If Elevate finds success, Honda could bring more SUVs into the country. But before talking about that, when is the Elevate coming? Honda has only unveiled the car for now; when is the launch? Today Honda has opened the bookings of the Elevate. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Honda Elevate launch.

Launch details

During the unveil, Honda had stated it would open bookings for the Elevate in July 2023. Now it has opened the bookings for a token amount of Rs 21,000. It didn’t give a similar proper framework for the launch, as it only stated a festive season launch. So a festive season launch could be anywhere from August to October. Honda could announce the pricing towards the end of August or early September.

Honda Elevate launch – Design

Honda Elevate launch

The Honda Elevate shares its design with global Honda SUVs. At the front, we have an upright grille with a big Honda logo in the middle. The grille is separated from the bonnet by a big chrome line. Then adjacent, we have sleek headlamps with DRLs above them. Honda has continued with fog lamps which are going extinct in India. The side profile is clean, but it does resemble a lot of cars in its segment. At the rear, we have inverted L-shaped tail lamps with a chrome element in the middle.

Specifications

The Elevate shares its platform with its sedan sibling, the City. Honda has also given the Elevate the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options include a manual and a CVT gearbox. Sadly, the Elevate misses out on a hybrid engine option. Honda has stated its plans directly to go EV with the Elevate and is thus skipping the hybrid engine.

Honda Elevate launch – Features

The C-SUV segment is dominated by cars which come loaded with features. So, Honda has its work cut out in this segment. Honda seems to be already on the back foot as it doesn’t come with any groundbreaking features. Still, it does get necessary ones like an electric sunroof, 10.25-inch infotainment, wireless charging and connected car technology. Also, it comes with Honda sensing and other safety features like hill start assist, vehicle stability assist and rear parking sensors.
