The Indian car market has seen a lot of growth in the last few years. However, the sales are still concentrated in the hands of a few manufacturers. Still, with EVs, other manufacturers do have a chance to ace the market. So a lot of global EV manufacturers are testing out their cars in India. Now a new French car has been spotted testing in the country. In today’s article, let’s talk about Ligier India.

These spy shots were posted by Motorbeam on their Instagram handle. So who exactly is Ligier? Ligier is a French automotive brand that is known for its racing heritage. Currently, it only makes small electric cars. So now, coming back to the topic, Ligier’s Mygi was spotted testing in India. The Ligier Mygi is a small electric car similar to the MG Comet.

Specifications & features

The Mygi comes with four variant options – G.OOD, I.DEAL, E.PIC and R.EBEL. The G.OOD and I.DEAL variants offer a range of just 63km on a single charge, while top variants E.PIC and R.EBEL offer a range of 123km. This range is kind of less even for a city car. In terms of features, the Mygi comes with a 10-inch infotainment system, reverse camera, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Ligier – Will it come to India?

So the important question is, what about its launch? So it’s not uncommon for foreign manufacturers to test out their cars in India. There is no certainty that Ligier will launch the car in India. The biggest roadblock for Ligier is that it will have to set up a factory in India. If it brings its car through the CBU route, it will be quite expensive and will have no buyers.
