Citroen is trying to diversify its lineup in the Indian market. It already has a good spread with hatchbacks and even EVs. Now Citroen’s next target is the C-SUV segment, which is also one of the most fiercely competed segments in India. Citroen is trying a different approach with the C3 Aircross by giving it a 7-seater option. So Citroen has unveiled the car, but when is it coming? Citroen only unveiled the C3 Aircross in April. At that time, Citroen had stated it plans to launch the C3 Aircross in the second half of 2023. According to our sources, Citroen could launch the car in August. What about the pricing? The Citroen C3 Aircross could be priced around the Rs 12 lakh mark. The C3 will rival products like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq etc. It will have a unique advantage with the 7-seater layout as C-SUV currently offers it.
Design
The Citroen comes with a unique design language similar to other Citroen cars sold all over the world. It carries that family look, with two slated grille that merges into the logo. We also have single-slated LED DRLs enclosing the headlamps. In the side profile, the C3 Aircross gets an upright design giving it proper SUV vibes. At the rear, we have inverted C-shaped tail lamps.
Citroen C3 Aircross launch – Specifications
The Citroen C3 Aircross only comes with one petrol engine option. This engine is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 108bhp and 190Nm of torque. This same engine also powers the C3 hatchback. On paper, this engine seems quite underpowered compared to the competition, but we will have to wait till we drive the car to pass judgement. Transmission options include a manual only for now. Citroen is trying to source an automatic gearbox option on this engine.
Features
Citroen hasn’t changed much in the interiors of the C3 Aircross compared to its hatchback variants. We still have the 10-inch infotainment system and still no automatic climate control. Citroen has improved the instrument cluster and electric ORVMs. However, the C3 Aircross lacks a lot of features like a sunroof, wireless charging and ventilated seats.
