Citroen Verna rival coming soon!

Citroen is still a fairly new manufacturer in the Indian market. However, in a short while, it has already launched several cars catering to different segments. We have C-SUVs, EVs and also full-size SUVs from the French brand. Now if new reports are to be believed Citroen will be targeting the sedan segment with a unique product. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Citroen sedan in India. 

New update

In an update shared by Autocar India, Citroen is working on a fastback-styled sedan that could be called the C3X. This sedan will come with a high-ground clearance. Citroen will try to carve out a crossover sedan segment. The C3X sedan could come with a front design similar to the C3 hatchback. Length-wise it will be 4.3 metres and the wheelbase could be similar to the C3 Aircross. 

Specifications

Like other Citroen cars, the C3X will also sit on the CMP modular platform. Citroen has already tweaked the platform for Indian conditions. Specification-wise, the C3X could come with a 1.2-litre turbo engine capable of producing 108bhp. Transmission options should include a manual and an automatic gearbox option. The C3X could also come with an electric variant in the future. 

Citroen sedan India – Launch timeline

Citroen has stated that it plans to launch one model every year and is well on track in doing it. It has already unveiled the C3 Aircross with a launch happening in the upcoming months. After that Citroen is expected to launch the EV version of the C3 Aircross. So the C3X could be launched in mid-2024 and its EV variant could be launched six months later.
