Honda wants to target the two most popular segments in the Indian market. It plans to launch a C-SUV to rival the Creta and also a compact SUV to take on the Nexon. Honda is already testing the C-SUV in various parts of the country. From the spy shots, it seems to be taking inspiration from global Honda SUVs. We have a sharp front design that tampers into a more rounded outcome at the rear. High ground clearance, heavy body cladding, imposing front look would be the must-haves for this car.

This Honda SUV is expected to come with a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5-litre pure petrol. So overall the engine options could be similar to the Honda City. Transmission options could include a manual and a CVT gearbox. According to reports, Honda is looking to localise the production of its hybrid setup to cut costs. Being a Honda car, there is no doubt about the reliability aspect of this SUV.

Features have become an important buying point in this segment. All competition cars come loaded with features and Honda will need to do the same. We expect the Honda SUV to come with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, ventilated seats etc. There are reports that Honda could also give it ADAS, which will add an extra layer of security. Other safety features could include 6 airbags, ABS + EBD, rear parking sensors etc
