Hyundai is launching one new product after another. Recently it wrapped up the launch of the all-new Verna. Now Hyundai is next going to target the small-SUV segment with the Exter. We have been talking about the Exter for a long time now. Now the Exter has been spotted testing again, this time in the snow. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Hyundai Exter.

New spy shots

The spy shots were posted on the website of Motor.es. The spied car was spotted testing in Sweden. Though the car is covered in heavy camouflage, we can see the silhouette similar to the earlier spy shots. At the front, we have H shaped LED DRL design and halogen headlamps. As we come to the side profile, we can see roof rails, a very different alloy wheel design and a big glass area. As we come to the rear, we can see half-circular tail lamps. Hyundai seems to be launching the Exter in European markets as a good compact alternative.

Other expected things

Hyundai Exter

The Exter will sit below the Venue in the brand’s portfolio. In terms of specifications, it is expected to share them with the Grand i10 Nios. According to recent rumours, the Exter will come with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine with CNG. Diesel is not expected due to the RDE norms. Being a Hyundai, it is expected to come loaded with features like a big infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging etc.

Hyundai Exter – Launch timeline

Hyundai Exter

Hyundai has already started the teaser campaign of the Exter. However, the car has been spotted in India only a few times. Still, with the teaser campaign in full flow, we can expect a launch soon. Hyundai could launch the Exter in the next two months. What about the pricing? The Exter could be priced around the Rs 6-lakh mark, pitting it against the Tata Punch.
