First, let’s start with the dimensions of both cars. The Hyundai Verna is 4,535mm in length, 1,765mm in width & 1,475mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2670, and Hyundai has not yet revealed the ground clearance. In comparison, the Virtus is 4561mm in length, 1,752mm in width and 1507mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2651mm. So overall both cars are quite evenly matched. The Virtus is longer, but the Verna has a better wheelbase. Width-wise, both are identical, while Virtus has better height.

The Hyundai Verna comes with two engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol is capable of producing 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a Torque converter gearbox. While the 1.5-litre turbo petrol is capable of producing 157bhp and 257Nm of torque. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. 

The Virtus also comes with two petrol options – a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol is capable of producing 113bhp and 178Nm of torque. Transmission options include a manual and a torque converter gearbox. The second engine option is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. This engine comes only with a 7-speed DSG option.

The All-new Verna comes loaded with features. It comes with features like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, an electronic parking brake, heated & ventilated seats, 64-colour ambient light, an electric sunroof, ADAS level-2, paddle shifters, a powered driver seat, 6-airbags, TPMS and all-disc brakes etc.

In comparison, the Virtus comes with a digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, an 8-speaker sound system, ventilated front seats, a 10.1-inch infotainment system, six airbags, wireless charging, connected car technology, automatic headlamps & wipers.

The pricing of the new Verna starts from Rs 12.98 lakh and goes to Rs 20.60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). In comparison, the Virtus starts from Rs 13.38 lakh and goes to Rs 21.77 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
