Still, brands like Hyundai are not giving up on this segment. Hyundai has finally launched the much anticipated Hyundai Verna. The pricing of the all-new Verna starts from Rs 10.89 lakh and goes to Rs 17.37 lakh (ex-showroom). The all-new Verna is available in 4 variants that include: EX, S, SX and SX(O). Colour options include Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Titan grey, Abyss Black, Atlas White and Teullrian Brown. Dual-tone colour options include Atlas White with a Black roof and Fiery Red with a Black roof (for 1.5 turbo-GDi only).

Dimensions

Let’s first talk about the dimensions of the new Verna. It is 4535mm in length, 1,765mm in width & 1475mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2670mm. Compared to the previous generation the new Verna is 95mm longer, and 36mm wider. Height is the same, while the wheelbase has increased by 70mm. Tyre size is 205/55 R16 diamond cut alloy wheels.

Hyundai has tried to give the all-new Verna a futuristic design language. At the front, we have full-width DRL. Below that we have the chequered grille design with headlamps integrated into them. Sadly, the new Verna misses out on fog lamps. As we move to the sides, the Verna comes with lots of cuts and creases. It gets diamond-cut alloy wheels giving it a stylish look. What about the rear? At the rear, we have inverted L-shaped DRLs with a connecting strip in the middle. 

Specifications

The all-new Verna comes with two petrol engine options. The first engine option is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated capable of producing 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-MT and an IVT. Fuel efficiency is 18.6kmpl on the manual and 19.6kmpl for the IVT gearbox. While the more powerful option is the 1.5-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-MT and a 7-DCT. Fuel efficiency is 20kmpl for the manual and 20.6kmpl for the DCT. Both the engines are RDE-compliant and E20 fuel ready.

Hyundai has gone above and beyond with features in the new Verna. The new Verna comes with features like a 10.25-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, 8-speaker Bose sound system, electronic parking brake, Ventilated & heated front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, drive modes, paddle shifters, powered driver seat and Switchable controls for audio and AC controls. In terms of safety, it comes with 6 airbags, a rear defogger, and ISOFIX as standard. Other safety features include hill start assist control, all disc brakes, TPMS etc. Also, the Verna comes with level-2 ADAS with front and rear ADAS features.

Warranty and service

The all-new Verna will come with 3 years unlimited km warranty and roadside assistance (RSA). Also, Hyundai is offering 5 years hield trusting repair package and up to a 5-year shield of trust periodic maintenance package. Additionally, customers can avail of up to 7 years of extended warranty options.
