Top selling SUVs in India in March 2023
2023 is well and truly on with so much happening in the Indian automotive scene. We are already seeing so many car launches and we also had the Auto Expo. Now we have got a sales report for March and SUVs have continued to show their dominance. Like every month, we are bringing the list of best-selling SUVs in March. In today’s article, let’s talk about the top SUVs in March 2023.
Maruti Brezza
Continuing its strong momentum from February, the Brezza has once again taken the top spot in this list. The Brezza is absolutely on fire with 16,227 units sold in March, which is remarkable. So why are the sales so high? One has to be Maruti’s reliability and the features it offers. In February, Maruti sold 15,787 units of the Brezza.
Top SUVs March 2023 – Tata Nexon
The Nexon in the last couple of months has had to play catch up to the Brezza. Still, its sales numbers are no slouch with 14,769 units sold in March. Talking about the Nexon, it is packed with features and comes with a variety of engine and transmission options. The Nexon saw a decent rise from the 13,914 units sold in February.
Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta continues to make its presence felt in the top SUV list. The Creta is so popular due to its features and the various drive/transmission option it offers. Hyundai is even preparing the 1.5-litre turbo petrol that could boost its sales. Hyundai sold 14,026 units of the Creta in March. A significant rise from the 10,421 units sold in February 2023.
Tata Punch
Following the Nexon, is its smaller sibling ‘Punch’. With SUVs in demand, Tata played it right by launching the Punch in the dead micro SUV segment. The Punch with its nifty features and SUV perks gives an amicable SUV experience at an affordable price. Tata sold 10,894 units of Punch in March 2023. In comparison, it sold 11,169 units in February 2023.
Maruti Grand Vitara
The Grand Vitara is doing exactly what Maruti had hoped for. It is not yet challenging the Creta but is at least knocking on the doors. The mild and strong hybrid setups have given the Grand Vitara a unique advantage. Maruti sold 10,045 units of the Grand Vitara in March 2023. A minor rise from the 9,183 units sold in February 2023.
Top SUVs March 2023 – Hyundai Venue
Following the Creta is its smaller sibling the Hyundai Venue. The Venue is raking in good sales since its facelift was launched in 2022. Hyundai also launched the ‘N Line’ for buyers looking for something different. Hyundai sold 10,024 units of the Venue in March 2023. In comparison, Hyundai sold 9,997 units in February 2023.
Mahindra Bolero
Unsurprisingly or surprisingly, the Bolero continues to lead Mahindra in the SUV sales chart. It’s the oldest SUV in its portfolio but continues to grow strong. It is especially popular in rural areas due to its ruggedness and capabilities. Mahindra sold 9,546 units of the Bolero in March. In comparison, it sold 9,782 units in February 2023.
Mahindra Scorpio
Another Mahindra car making its presence felt on the list is the Scorpio. The Scorpio duo has raked in combined sales of 8,788 units in March 2023. A slight increase from the 6,950 units sold in February. With Mahindra starting deliveries of the lower variants, we expect the sales to improve even further. Both the Scorpio are known for their robustness and capabilities.
Kia Sonet
The Kia Sonet continues to lead Kia in the Indian market. It has now assumed the leader role in Kia’s portfolio outselling the Seltos. As a product, the Sonet is known for its aggressive design and features. Kia sold 8,677 units of the Sonet in March. A slight drop from the 9,836 units sold in February.
Top SUVs March 2023 – Kia Seltos
The Seltos has slid into the top-selling SUV list. In the last few months, the Seltos has been outperformed by the Sonet. The major reason for this slide could be the imminent launch of the facelift expected in the next few months. Kia sold 6,554 units of the Seltos in March. A drop from the 8,012 units sold in February 2023.
