Citroen as a manufacturer is still establishing itself in the Indian market. It has been launching new products in various categories from full-size to EVs. What do we know so far?
For now, Citroen is working on a new SUV for the Indian market. It has confirmed that it will be unveiling the car on the 27th of April. According to reports, this SUV will sit in the C-SUV segment (Creta segment) and could be called the C3 Aircross. According to reports, the C3 Aircross could come in 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. Citroen already sells the C3 Aircross outside India, but this model is expected to be different and will cater to India and some other developing markets.
Citroens next car – Specifications
This C-SUV is expected to share its specifications with the C3 hatchback. So it could come with two petrol engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol. The naturally aspirated unit is capable of producing 81bhp and 115Nm of torque, while the turbo petrol produces 109bhp and 190Nm of torque. Now, these specifications really seem to be underpowered for a C-SUV, we hope Citroen improves the power figures. Transmission options could include a manual and an automatic gearbox option.
Features
Citroen seems to have learned its lesson with the C3 hatchback. It has figured out that features are important and the C3 Aircross will be better loaded than the latter. We expect features like bigger infotainment, alloy wheels, auto-dimming IRVM, electric ORVM, LED headlamps, automatic climate control etc.
Citroens next car – Launch timeline
As stated above, the brand has already stated that it plans to unveil its next car on the 27th of April. This is most certainly going to be the unveiling of the C3 Aircross. What about the launch? The launch could happen in the coming weeks after the unveiling. What about the pricing? We can expect aggressive pricing on the C3 Aircross as it will be taking on the established players in this segment.
