Maruti’s plan after the Fronx and Jimny!

Maruti has stepped into the SUV marathon with other manufacturers with its new SUVs like Fronx and Jimny. Its recently launched Grand Vitara has also grasped a healthy share in the C-SUV segment. From being the favourite choice in the affordable segment, the brand is now creating its aura in the premium category as well. Its Nexa premium lineup is the wheelman for its premium cars and its Arena has a majority hold on the economical products. What’s next from Maruti? New Maruti Swift to look like this?

2023 Upcoming Maruti cars – New generation Swift & Dzire 

Maruti is working on the new generation update of Swift and Dzire. With that said, 2 of these models are likely to be a big overhaul in and out with new engines. We are talking about the new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder mills, unlike the 4-cylinder K12C. The models are codenamed ‘YED’ which would continue to offer equipment in the same format as of now. The Swift sports the hatchback look and Dzire with its sedan layout and some additional features. Talking about its engine, it would be getting the strong hybrid setup mated to the new 1.2-litre (codenamed as Z12E). With this setup, the mileage of the models is likely to reach around 35 to 40kmpl making them the most frugal Marutis of their time.

Maruti Innova HyCross 

We all know about the Toyota-Suzuki alliance which we could see in products like Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Grand Vitara and more. As we know, Maruti is galloping high on uplifting its premium quotient and currently, it limits on its XL6 which is a premium makeover of the Ertiga. So, Maruti could launch the sister of the Innova HyCross to expand its portfolio on the upper side. Now, wherein the Grand Vitara is the most expensive car you can buy but the launch of this could expand the buyer’s mindset about the brand. 

2023 Upcoming Maruti cars  – Grand Vitara 7 seater 

For those who wouldn’t be wanting a full-size MPV with the likes of the HyCross, Maruti is likely to spawn a new Alcazar rival in the market. We are talking about the 7-seater variant of the Grand Vitara with a long wheelbase for increased interior room. Talking about its powertrain option, it is likely to get the strong hybrid as well as the AWD variant from the Vitara. Other than this, we could expect some styling tweaks and differences in the design point. What about features? The premium factor of this car would be on the greater side with more features. The production of this car is likely to commence in the new factory of Maruti which would be setup in Kharkhoda, HR.

Maruti EVX

The brand unveiled this concept at the Auto Expo 2023 to showcase its pathway in the EV sector. As its name derives, the ‘EVX’ is a ground-up EV concept from the brand which could give birth to a C-segment ESUV from the automaker. We could insinuate this because of its dimensions that range from 4300mm in length, 1800mm in width & 1,600mm in height. Talking about its range of possibilities, the EV could get 2 powertrain options. One with a 48kWh pack with 400kms of range and a larger 60kWh pack with 550kms. The launch of this car is expected to launch in 2025.
