New Maruti Swift to look like this?
Maruti rules the hatchback segment in the country with as many as six hatchbacks in its stable. Still, its most popular hatchback is the Swift. This car has been in the market for a long time and continues to go strong. Maruti knows the importance of Swift and has constantly kept on updating it. Now Swift is expected to get a major generational update. Suzuki is already testing the new one outside India. Now, we have obtained some renders of the new hatchback giving us a glimpse of what it could look like. In today’s article, let’s talk about the design of the new Maruti Swift.
Maruti Swift design – New renders
The new Swift has been spotted numerous times outside India. Now using these spy shots, Evren Özgün Spy Sketch, a Youtube channel, has made a render of what the new Swift could look like. At the front, we could see a new grille design that extends into the headlamp and fog lamp cutout. DRLs are placed in the fog lamp cutout. The side profile looks elongated. The rear could get squarish taillamps.

What else to expect?
The new-gen Swift is said to be based on a slightly tweaked version of the Heartect platform. Hopefully, this improves the safety of the Swift, which is its biggest weak point. Other than that, Maruti could improve its interior quality to increase its premiumness. In the interior, we could see new features considering Maruti has started to pay a lot of attention to this department. We could see a 9.0-inch infotainment system, heads-up display, wireless charging, etc.
Hybrid setup
The new Swift could become one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the country. According to reports, it could come with an all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine. This will be a three-cylinder unit and not a four-cylinder one like the current 1.2-litre engine. Toyota is expected to lend its strong hybrid tech on the new 1.2-litre petrol engine. This hybrid setup is expected to deliver an ARAI-rated mileage of 35-40kmpl.
Maruti Swift design – Launch timeline
The new-generation Swift has been regularly spotted testing in Europe. So it is expected to debut in 2023 for the European markets. What about India? The new Swift is yet to be spotted in India, but that shouldn’t be an issue considering the popularity of the Swift. Maruti could launch the new Swift in the second half of 2023 or early 2024.
