Volkswagen as a brand is finally gaining decent sales in the market. Its India project 2.0 has concluded well for the brand with the launches of the Taigun and Virtus. Now going forward Volkswagen is testing the ID.4 in India with a launch expected soon. Apart from EVs, now VW will also need to update its current cars and bring newer models to continue its growth. Recently the Taigun facelift was spotted testing in Brazil. In today’s article, let’s talk about this 2024 Volkswagen Taigun.

Spy shots

2024 Volkswagen Taigun

The spy shots were posted on the Instagram of falandodecarro, a Brazilian automotive page. The spy shots are of the T-Cross, which is just the Taigun with a different name sold in Brazil. What do the spy shots reveal? Though the car is covered in heavy camouflage at the front and rear, we can spot a new grille with the VW logo placed a little lower. The front bumper has also seen a minor revision. At the rear, we could see slightly tweaked tail lamps and bumpers.

What else to expect?

The spy shots didn’t reveal the interior, but we can expect some changes. We could expect some changes on the dashboard like a change of colours etc. In terms of features, with the competition ramping up we could see Volkswagen offering ADAS on the facelift. We don’t expect Volkswagen to tinker much with the engine specifications. So it will continue with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbo petrol.

2024 Volkswagen Taigun – Launch timeline

2024 Volkswagen Taigun

Volkswagen is in no hurry to bring the Taigun facelift to India. For now, it is focusing on launching the ID.4. The Taigun has only completed two years in the market and Volkswagen will wait a bit longer to bring the facelift. So we expect Volkswagen to launch the facelift sometime in 2024. What about the pricing? The Taigun could get a price hike of Rs 60k to 80k depending on the added features it gets in the update.
