2 new compact EVs coming in 2023 

Compact cars have always been the go-to option for people in the country. This is why most of the best-selling cars are either hatchbacks or compact SUVs. Now with the EV trend taking over, manufacturers are trying to bring in compact EVs. We already have options like the Tiago EV, Citroen C3 EV etc. But with the rising demand more manufacturers are planning to bring compact EVs. In today’s article, let’s talk about new compact EVs. 

MG Comet

MG’s biggest gamble in the Indian market could be the Comet. The Comet is quite a unique car as it is even smaller than the Alto. Also, it is a 2-door hatchback with four seats. MG is not looking to play the price game and rather wants the Comet to provide a premium experience. It is mainly targeting city buyers looking for a second car to drive in tight lanes. The Comet is expected to come with a claimed range of 200km to 300km. MG is expected to load with features like a digital instrument cluster, 10-inch infotainment etc. Pricing-wise, the Comet is expected to start from Rs 14 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

New compact EVs – Tata Punch

The Punch has been a massive success for Tata since its launch in 2021. It is constantly on the top-selling SUV chart. Seeing this success, Tata plans to bring an EV version of the Punch. Tata already leads the EV race in the country, and the Punch EV could be a perfect candidate to extend the growth. Specification-wise, the Punch EV could share its specifications with the Tigor EV. So we can expect a 73bhp motor and a 26kWh battery pack. Feature-wise, we can expect the 7.0-inch infotainment, digital instrument cluster etc. The pricing of the Punch EV is expected to start from Rs 13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
