2023 Maruti Brezza to get new powertrain

The Brezza was Maruti’s first SUV in the market and for years it has held the fort quite well for the brand. In 2022, the Brezza got the much-needed update. Now, Maruti is looking to add a new powertrain. What is Maruti planning to add? It is a CNG setup. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2023 Maruti Brezza.

At the Auto Expo, Maruti showcased the Brezza CNG for the first time. Sadly Maruti didn’t reveal its specifications or even the launch timeline of the Brezza CNG. However, we know for sure that the Brezza is soon going to get a new CNG variant.

The Brezza CNG will continue with the 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine. Power figures could witness a slight drop due to the CNG setup. Generally, CNG cars only come with a manual gearbox option, but there is a slight possibility that the Brezza CNG could come with a proper automatic gearbox option. A CNG automatic could be an expensive proposition, considering the Brezza AT is already around Rs 2 lakh more expensive. If we add CNG cost it could be expensive for an average CNG buyer.

Maruti showcased the Brezza CNG at the Auto Expo 2023. Even before the Auto Expo, the CNG variant was spotted in a dealer stockyard. So the launch of the Brezza CNG seems to be just around the corner. What about the pricing? We can expect a premium of Rs 90,000 over similar normal petrol variants. Maruti could offer CNG on all variants to attract customers.
