The car market has reached a saturation point in the country with the number of launches. Manufacturers have to keep on updating their cars to keep them fresh. So manufacturers have started bringing special editions of their cars. Tata is currently doing it well and Skoda has a long history with the ‘Monte Carlo’ edition. Recently Skoda launched the Kushaq ‘Monte Carlo’ and another car from Skoda’s stable could soon get it. Which car is this? It’s the Skoda Slavia. In Today’s article, let’s talk about the Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo.

What special variant?

Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo

The ‘Monte Carlo’ edition has been close to Skoda’s pedigree in Europe. It reflects the brand’s rally heritage in the iconic race held in Monaco. Skoda also had the ‘Monte Carlo’ edition on the Rapid. Considering the Slavia is the spiritual successor to the Rapid it is sure to get the ‘Monte Carlo’ edition in 2023. Also, currently, Slavia doesn’t get a sporty trim like the Virtus GT and the ‘Monte Carlo’ could just fill in this gap.

Skoda Slavia ‘Monte Carlo’ – Expected changes?

Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo

We expect the Slavia ‘Monte Carlo’ to get similar upgrades as the Kushaq ‘Monte Carlo’. On the exterior, we could see blacked-out ORVMs, a front grille, door handles, red-brake callipers and ‘Monte Carlo’ badging. What about the interiors? Interiors could get the all-black theme with red inserts. Also, we could see red ambient lighting enhancing the overall look. Feature-wise, we don’t expect any alteration and it will continue with the 10-inch infotainment system, 8-inch instrument cluster, Skoda sound system etc.

Engine specifications

Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo

The Skoda Slavia ‘Monte Carlo’ could be offered with both the 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbo. Skoda does something similar on the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo edition. Transmission options will include the 6-speed manual and torque converter AT on the 1.0-litre and a 6-speed manual and DSG gearbox on the bigger 1.5-litre TSI. With so many engines and transmission options, the Slavia ‘Monte Carlo’ offers a lot more variety than the Virtus GT, which is only available in the top variant.

Skoda could launch the Slavia ‘Monte Carlo edition’ in the first half of 2023. What about the pricing? The ‘Monte Carlo edition’ could command a premium of Rs 50,000 due to the cosmetic changes. As a product, the Monte Carlo will cater to customers looking for that extra bit of uniqueness from their cars.
