Mahindra is riding high on the success of XUV700 and Scorpio-N. Both cars have a big backlog of bookings. Even the Thar, a lifestyle SUV, has garnered a good response. But still, there are some SUVs in Mahindra’s lineup that are struggling quite a bit. Mahindra could thus pull the plug on these SUVs. In today’s article, let’s talk about these Mahindra SUVs.

Alturas G4

Mahindra Alturas G4

The Alturas G4 was truly a global product based on the SsangYong Rexton. Mahindra used to assemble the car in India with CKD kits from the SsangYong factory in South Korea. Even with the launch of XUV700, the Alturas G4 is still Mahindra’s flagship product. But with Mahindra selling the SsangYong brand, it will be hard for Mahindra to continue the production of Alturas G4. Mahindra has already removed the Alturas G4 from its website and this could be the end of this SUV in India.

Mahindra SUVs – KUV100

The KUV100 is Mahindra’s smallest SUV in the market. Mahindra was ahead of its time by bringing such a car in 2016. Sadly for Mahindra, this hasn’t worked out well compared to what Tata did with the Punch. Mahindra sold just 2 units of the KUV100 in November 2022. So it doesn’t make sense for Mahindra to keep the KUV100 in its portfolio and it could be discontinued next year.

Marazzo

The Marazoo was Mahindra’s take on proper MPV in the market. It had the potential to take on the Maruti Ertiga and XL6. However, Mahindra missed the trick by not offering a petrol engine and also an automatic option. The sales of Marazzo have dried up even further in the last few years. Mahindra sold just 201 units of the Marazzo in November, which is nothing compared to the sales of the Ertiga. Mahindra has two options: either bring a facelift or discontinue the car as a whole.
