Tata Tigor EV gets a Major Upgrade!
Tata as a manufacturer has a big headstart in the EV segment. It already has three EVs in its lineup – the Nexon EV, the Tiago EV and Tigor EV. Recently Tata also achieved the 50,000 EV sales milestone. The reason behind Tata’s success has been its proactive approach. Recently, it also launched the Tiago EV, the most affordable EV in the market. The Tiago EV comes with several features that even the Tigor EV doesn’t get. To compensate, Tata is bringing these upgrades to the Tigor EV. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Tata Tigor EV.
What’s changed?
Tata has bumped up the range of Tigor EV from 306km to 315km. These extra few km can be helpful for most people. Tata has also added a new colour option called Magnetic red. Other than that, it will also add a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette upholstery, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers on the Tigor EV.
Variant-wise distribution
Tata has brought in 5 new standard features on the Tigor EV. Standard features include connected car technology, Smartwatch Z connect, Multi-mode regen, iTPMS, Tyre puncture kit + spare wheel. Tata has also changed the variants of the Tigor EV. The XM variant becomes the XT variant with no price hike plus added features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen, steering mounted audio controls. Then there is the XZ Plus variant with no price hike and added features like automatic headlamps, wipers and cruise control. The top variant XZ DT is changed to XZ Plus Lux with a price hike of Rs 10,000 with premium leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel etc.
Updates to current owners
So what about the current owners? Tata has got them covered as it will give some features through OTA updates. Tata will be enabling multi-mode regen and cruise control through software updates. Current users can get these updates from December 20th 2022. According to Tata, these software updates will be free of cost, but the hardware could be chargeable.
