New Mahindra Bolero – things that could change!
The Bolero has been quite a workhorse in Mahindra’s lineup in India. It is used for different purposes, from fleet services to police departments. The Bolero is still going strong but is practically the same since its launch in the early 2000s. Considering Mahindra’s push for updating its cars, the Mahindra Bolero could get a major update. So what will change? In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Mahindra Bolero 2022.
Platform and design
Mahindra is looking to make the Bolero more upmarket. This is something similar to what it did with the Scorpio-N. Like the Scorpio-N, the new Bolero could be based on the modified version of the ladder-on-frame chassis. This platform could improve the dynamics and stability of the new Bolero. Design-wise, Mahindra would look to retain the boxy silhouette, but with a modern touch. We can also expect an aggressive design language, which has become a trademark of Mahindra cars. In the interiors, we can expect a modern dashboard layout and some new modern features.
Specifications
Predicting the engine specifications of the new Bolero is a bit tricky. The most feasible option for Mahindra is to use the 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, you never know with Mahindra and it could plonk the 2.2-litre engine on the new Bolero. Mahindra could use the Thar tune which will be ideal for the new Bolero. Transmission options could include manual and automatic gearbox options. Could Mahindra give it a petrol engine? That is a possibility, but we can’t be sure.
Mahindra Bolero 2022- Launch timeline
Earlier Mahindra confirmed that it could launch the new Bolero sometime between 2023 to 2026. 2023 doesn’t look possible as we have never seen the car in testing, and also the Thar 5-door could be the big launch of 2023. Considering all this, 2024 seems ideal for the new-generation Bolero.
