7-seater cars/MPVs have always been popular in the Indian market. The craze reached a new high with the launch of the Mahindra XUV700. Mahindra is still fulfilling the backlog of the XUV700. But the real king of the 7-seater market has always been the Toyota Innova. As we all know, Toyota is bringing the Innova HyCross. So should a Mahindra XUV700 buyer wait for the Toyota Innova HyCross? In today’s article, lets talk about XUV700 vs Innova HyCross.

The XUV700 is 4,695mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,755mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2,750 mm and has a ground clearance of 200mm. Although we have limited information regarding the Innova HyCross, this one is expected to be 4,700mm in length and should have a wheelbase of 2,850mm. Let’s also talk about the body styles, the XUV700 is an SUV that comes with a 7-seater option, so this compromises the 3rd-row space. On the other hand, Innova will be a proper MPV, which is expected to translate to proper space in all three rows.

XUV700 vs Innova HyCross – Specifications

The XUV700 comes with the most powerful petrol and diesel engine in its segment. It comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine (197bhp/380Nm) and a 2.2-litre diesel engine(152bhp/360Nm or 450Nm(AT)). Both the engine options come with manual and automatic gearbox options.

In comparison, the Innova HyCross will mostly miss out on diesel engines, but this will be made-up via the hybrid engines. The Innova HyCross is expected to come with a 2.0-litre regular and a 2.0-litre strong hybrid engine. Could the hybrid engine match the efficiency of the diesel? Only time will tell. Both engines are expected to come with manual and automatic gearboxes.

Features

The XUV700 comes loaded with features. It comes with features like a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, drive modes, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, 3D audio with 12 speakers, ADAS, etc. What about the Innova HyCross? The Innova HyCross is expected to get several premium features as well. It is expected to come with Toyota Safety Sense (ADAS), a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a large floating infotainment system and captain seats in the second row with ‘Ottoman function’.

XUV700 vs Innova HyCross – Conclusion

So coming to the title of the story, should XUV700 buyers wait? It is a trick question to answer. The XUV700 is already a strong product with several features and specifications. However, the Innova HyCross could be an equally competent product with its expected features and engine. The major deal breaker will be the hybrid engine when compared to the XUV700’s diesel engine. So, the final choice could come down to what you prefer.
