The Korean automaker Hyundai has established itself as India’s second top-selling car brand. It has managed to do so by offering plenty of premium features even in the affordable car category. The company has been there in the country for 24 years now. As time goes by, we have seen a lot of popular products like Verna, Creta, Santro and the newly-launched Tucson. However, many such Hyundai cars are available outside India which can create havoc in the Indian market. Which are those? We will tell you about 5 Hyundai cars we want in India!

Hyundai cars India – Palisade

Currently, Hyundai has the newly launched Tucson as their flagship SUV in India. However, there’s one more big boy in Hyundai’s portfolio that could take on the Toyota Fortuner. It is called the Palisade and it comes with a lot of road presence. The Palisade looks strong, muscular & big and ticks all the boxes for any SUV buyer. Talking about its engine, it gets 3 engine options abroad.

If there is any possibility that it may come to India, Hyundai could mostly give it the diesel powertrain as the only option. It gets a 2.2-litre diesel engine capable of making 198bhp & 441Nm of torque. In the interiors, it is a premium car loaded with all the bells & whistles like a 360-degree parking camera, 10-inch infotainment system, premium sound system, digital instrument cluster, etc.

Hyundai Stargazer

Hyundai has recently launched the Stargazer in South Asian markets. Looking at its size and dimensions, it essentially looks like the baby version of its premium sibling Staria. The design of the car is quite unique with a short sloping bonnet and big grille. In the interiors, it looks identical to current Hyundai cars. It gets a similar steering wheel and gear selector as the Creta, and some interior bits will also remind you of other Hyundai cars. In terms of power, it could get similar engine options like the Carens as Hyundai would be targeting the same Carens segment. So, if it is ever launched in India, it could go under the affordable MPV category that is dominated by the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens.

Hyundai cars India – Creta facelift

Hyundai cars India

The Creta is one of the most popular cars from Hyundai. No doubt, it is the current top-selling Hyundai car. So, to maintain Creta’s dominance, Hyundai could bring the Creta facelift in India with more features and design updates. The new car is likely to get the ‘parametric jewel grille’ that is seen on the Tucson and the connecting LED backlight at the rear. Other than that, we can expect some new features in the interior including the all-digital instrument cluster, 360-degree parking camera and more. What about the engine? As it is a facelift update, it is touted to get the same engine options.

Hyundai IONIQ 5

Hyundai India is all set to bring its first premium electric car to India. It is likely to be the IONIQ 5, a premium crossover with a length of 4,635mm. The company plans to bring the IONIQ 5 to India by the end of this year. Talking more about the car, it is based on the E-GMP architecture which is made specifically for EVs. Globally, there are two battery specifications available with this EV. A 58kWh and 72.6kWh battery packs are on offer that could give buyers an option. Moreover, the pricing expectations could range from Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) and could mount depending on the variants.

Hyundai cars India – Staria

Hyundai has strong candidates that could take on two potential products from Toyota. Earlier we saw the Palisade that could suppress the Fortuner and another is this one, the Staria which could take on the Vellfire. Hyundai has the Staria that lies under the luxury MPV segment. It is available with all the comfort and luxury features that accentuate the luxury appeal of the car. In terms of looks and design, the car looks futuristic in the interior as well as the exterior. The interior has a floating design for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. All in all, the Staria could prove to be fierce rival for the Toyota Velfire.
