New Hyundai MPV- The Stargazer
The new entry-level MPV from the Hyundai could be a baby version of its bigger and premium sibling-Staria. The Stargazer could be an apt car for the Indian Market making its way into the affordable MPV segment. When can it come to India? It could be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023, only then we can expect a proper launch in later 2023. There is no official information regarding its launch but the car is already on sale in Indonesia.
The new Hyundai Stargazer has adopted styling from the premium van Staria. The design of the Stargazer is very unique when compared to its competitors. The car has got a sloping profile with a small bonnet line. The overhang at the rear is clearly visible with a connecting strip for the vertically placed taillamps. The front of the car looks imposing with the parametric grille. Just like the rear, the front also has a LED DRL running across the bonnet. The headlights are then placed below the DRL in a different module.
New Hyundai MPV- Interior and features
Getting inside the car, you would be welcomed with a floating infotainment system that has a similar design to the Kia Seltos. Other interior patterns could resemble other Hyundais with a similar steering wheel and gear knob like the Creta. Moving to the features, the car could get BlueLink connected car technology, roof-mounted AC vents, wireless charging, and more. There are also high chances that the Stargazer could come with ADAS safety features as many brands are starting to provide it.
The Asian version of the Stargazer is available with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that we are seeing in the Hyundai Creta and Kia Carens. However, if the Stargazer comes to India, Hyundai could bring it in three engine options like the Carens. A 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with options of a manual and automatic gearbox.
New Hyundai MPV- Price and Launch
Hyundai is pretty late in the affordable MPV party. If Hyundai wants to lay its hand now, the prices of the car should be aggressive. Talking about its competitors, the Ertiga is the leader in the segment with the CNG option. So, if the Korean carmaker wants to take on the Ertiga, it must be spot on with its pricing. We guess that the prices could start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom prices). If the prices are right, would you buy the Stargazer over the Ertiga? Let us know in the comments.
