Kia India has seen a stupendous rise in the last few years. In just three years, it has positioned itself in the top-5 manufacturer’s list. Globally also, Kia has improved its reputation from being a normal brand to challenging the big guys. So how has Kia done this? By bringing in good products, some of which we already see in the Indian market. However, Kia should bring some more cars from its global portfolio to the country. In today’s article, let’s talk about the five Kia cars we want in India.

Picanto

The Picanto is the smallest hatchback in Kia’s global portfolio. For context, the Picanto is a sister model to the Hyundai Grand i10. Though Kia is currently focusing on SUVs, a small hatchback could work in the Indian market. Engine-wise it comes with the same engine options as the Grand i10 Nios. Could the Picanto compete with the Maruti hatchback? Only time will tell.

Telluride

It has to be its badass design and luxurious interiors. Globally, the Telluride comes with a 3.8-litre V6 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Will it come to India? We could see the Telluride in India in the future once the market matures.

The Stinger is one of the best-looking Kia cars. It does give that sport sedan vibe and will feel an absolute beast on Indian roads. However, the sedan scene in India is looking bleak. So seeing the Stinger in India could be a miracle. Nevertheless, till then we can drool at its beauty. Globally, the Stinger comes with a 3.3-litre TGDI engine and a 2.2-litre CRDi engine.

Sportage

The Sportage is Kia’s iteration of the Tucson. Tucson is a well-known product in India, and Kia can bank the Sportage on this popularity. In 2021, Kia launched the new Sportage giving it a futuristic design. Like other Kia cars, the Sportage comes with a wide variety of engine and hybrid options. Overall, the Sportage could be a good alternative for Tucson buyers if priced competitively.

Kia cars India – Soul EV

The Soul EV is a compact crossover and could be perfect for Indian road conditions. It can offer ample space and also good manoeuvrability. In terms of specs, it comes with a 64kWh battery pack offering 450km of the claimed range.
