Important update for Tata Nexon coming soon?
Tata has been making bank with the Nexon in the compact SUV segment. The car has got immense response from the buyers that have made it the highest-selling SUV in the country. Tata’s constant plan of brushing the car to its finest has made it come out in flying colors. Rivaling cars like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and others, the Nexon offers a great value for money quotient. To amplify it, even more, Tata is planning another variant for the Nexon. New Tata Nexon variant – Design
Nexon CNG could be a great cost-effective option for mileage-conscious buyers. Though we have a diesel variant on offer, the perks of CNG could be highly economical due to its impressive mileage figures. Talking about the design, it could be the same as the regular model but we can expect some i-CNG badges on the exterior of the car. Other than that the car could be highly identical on the inside but we can see the addition of the CNG tank taking space from its 350 litres of boot. It could also house the CNG button on the center dash for easy switching between Petrol and CNG on the go.
New Tata Nexon variant – Features
Tata has wisely planned its variants on its CNG cars. While some other brands bring their CNG cars in lower variants, Tata brought the Tiago and Tigor in top trims. It is touted that Tata might also do the same with its Nexon. As top models of Nexon are already heavily equipped with features like iRA-connected car tech, sunroof, Automatic AC, digital instrument cluster, etc. the new Nexon CNG could offer the same.
New Tata Nexon variant – Powertrain
Nexon CNG could be only made available with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as of now. As Tata doesn’t offer a naturally aspirated motor in the Nexon so it is highly likely that the Nexon could get CNG in this engine option. Transmission duties are expected to be done by the six-speed Manual gearbox only. Power figures could see a drop due to the CNG nature but mileage would surely witness a gain. Considering all this, Nexon could be the first car with CNG in a turbo petrol engine. Only time would tell how Tata plans the Nexon CNG if it ever has to come.
Launch & Pricing
Rivals of the Nexon, the Maruti Brezza & Kia Sonet are expected to come with a bi-fuel CNG option. Therefore, Tata has also spied testing its Nexon CNG on the Indian soils. However, there is no official confirmation from the brand about the launch of the car.
